How to reach the Surface
To gain access to the Surface, you must first brew the"Permeation Of Witching-Wards"Incantation to lift the Guarded Ward at the end of the Crossroads hub. To gain this recipe, you mustdefeat Scyllain Oceanus andspeak with Hermeswhen he appears. Then, advance toHecateduring another run through Erebus to get the Incantation recipe from her.

How to survive longer on the Surface
After casting the Permeation Of Witching-Wards Incantation you’re free to explore the Surface, and you may get lucky enough to find some early Bronze there before you die. But youwilldie very quickly on the Surface. Melinoë’s cursed blood means she takes steadily increasing damage the longer she stays on the Surface, so to gather lots of Bronze you will need to deal with this curse.
After dying on your first trip to the Surface, you’ll speak with Moros and he’ll tell you about a new Incantation:“Unraveling A Fateful Bond”. This Incantation requires:
Once this Incantation is cast, you will no longer take periodic damage while out on the Surface. This will allow you to explore the City of Ephyra properly and find all the Bronze you need.

What is Bronze used for in Hades 2?
The main uses for Bronze inHades 2are for crafting theRod of Fishingand theArgent Skull. The Argent Skull is the fifthNocturnal Arms weaponrecipe you’ll encounter in Hades 2 and will require you to gather ingredients from the third major area as well as Bronze.
The Rod of Fishing is slightly easier to obtain and only requires Bronze and 2 Fate Fabric to make. Once you have all four Gathering Tools, you can fulfil theTools of the UnseenProphecy from the Fated List and collect 40 Ash as a reward.
