Looking for Awaken Wine Worms in Black Myth Wukong?They may not sound too delicious, but using Awaken Wine Worms to upgrade your drinks is a good idea, as these rare materials will improve the drink’s healing effect. With 12 Awaken Wine Worms in total, you can upgrade more than one drink if you’d like, such as the common Coconut Wine or the rare Lambbrew. Just visit the Shen Monkey and spend those hard-earned worms!

Unfortunately, most Awaken Wine Worms are hidden inside large pots scattered across the world ofBlack Myth Wukong, which makes them very difficult to find. Luckily, there’s one thing that sets them apart from the hundreds of ‘normal’ pots in the game; the ones containing an Awaken Wine Worm give off a golden glow.

To help you find those golden pots and upgrade your drinks, here’s every Awaken Wine Worm location in Black Myth Wukong.

You canpurchase a total of three Awaken Wine Wormsfrom the Shen Monkey. Although this merchant becomes available in Chapter 1, he’ll not have any Awaken Wine Worms in his inventory yet. To unlock each worm, here’s what you must do:

Beware that once you’ve completedChen Loong’s questline, Shen Monkey will move to the Zodiac Village - the hidden region unlocked during this quest.

Chapter 1 Awaken Wine Worm locations

If this is your first visit, beware that you’ll enter theBlack Wind King’s boss arenaonce you get through the narrow doors, so it’s best to concentrate on the fight before grabbing the worm.

Chapter 3 Awaken Wine Worm locations

Besides the one you can purchase from the Shen Monkey, you’ll be able to obtain two more Awaken Wine Worms in Chapter 3. The first is found near the end of the Pagoda Realm section, and the other may be collected at the end of the Valley of Ecstasy part.

Outside the Wheel, Pagoda Realm

Starting from theOutside the WheelShrine in the Pagoda Realm, walk back towards the Pagoda building but turn right before entering it. Continue along the cliff’s edge until you see a wooden treasure chest in front of you. This may look like a dead end, but carefully approach the edge of the cliff and look down; see the lower ledge? Drop down and walk back (with the chasm on your right) until you see the glowing pot containing the Awaken Wine Worm on your left side. It’s behind a group of petrified enemies.

Chapter 4 Awaken Wine Worm locations

There are three Awaken Wine Worms hidden in The Webbed Hollow region. Beware that the last one is located in thePurple Cloud Mountainsecret area. To get there, you must defeat the Venom Daoist boss twice: when he’s stuck in the “OddCocoon” near the Pool of Shattered Jade Shrine, and in the arena accessible from the top of the hill behind the Court of Illumination Shrine.

Estate of the Zhu, Village of Lanxi

From theEstate of the ZhuShrine (first Shrine in Chapter 4), enter the walled area on the left. This is the boss arena where you’ll fight the Second Sister. With your back to the entrance, look inside the small building on your right to find the Awaken Wine Worm.

Temple Entrance, Temple of Yellow Flowers

Pass through the gate in the yellow wall next to theTemple EntranceShrine and walk up the stairs.Insidethe temple complex, enter the building on the right and take the exit behind the tiger enemy on the left (walk through the courtyard full of yellow-robed monks). The Awaken Wine Worm is in a pot next to an NPC, can’t miss it.

While you’re here, you might want to visit themeditation spotin the same temple complex.

Petalfall Hamlet, Purple Cloud Mountain

Cross the arched bridge behind thePetalfall HamletShrine and walk up the stairs. Continue through the stone gate ahead, passing the NPC called Daoist Mi on your left, and immediately turn left; there’s a very narrow staircase that leads directly to the Awaken Wine Worm.

The route to an Awaken Wine Worm on Purple Cloud Mountain in Black Myth Wukong.

Chapter 5 Awaken Wine Worm locations

Just two more Awaken Wine Worm locations left! Note that the final one is in theBishui Cavesecret area, so you must complete the Pale-Axe Stalwart’s questline to get it. In short, you should meet the bull NPC in the village with the fighting enemies behind theAshenPass I Shrine. Defeat the Brown-Iron and Gray-Bronze Carts, return to the village to speak with Pale-Axe, defeat the Crimson-Silver Cart, walk back from the Fallen Furnace Crater to uncover a hidden path on the left, and defeat the Rusty-Gold Cart. This will open the doors to Bishui Cave.

Rakshasa Palace, Furnace Valley

Starting from theRakshasa PalaceShrine, follow the path across the stone bridges. When the path splits in two, walk through the lava to enter the building left of the massive red guardian. The Awaken Wine Worm is inside.

The route to an Awaken Wine Worm in the Rakshasa Palace in Black Myth Wukong.

Corridor of Fire and Ice, Bishui Cave

Go to theRakshasa PalaceShrine, which is quite far down the Bishui Cave (on the main path behind the Top Takes Bottom, Bottom Takes Top boss). Starting from that Shrine, go through the icy doorway. About halfway up the stairs, turn left to find the glowing vase with the Awaken Wine Worm.
